Shuffle Report – A Favor House Atlantic

Posted on January 1, 2012

I had decided that in an effort to write about music daily, I would grab my iPhone, put it on shuffle and post and comment about whatever came up. No screwing around. No looking for a “cool” song. Should something come up that some people may find potentially embarrassing – oh well. I will own it. I will not keep that shit in the closet. Seriously…there may be a few gems in there!

Pffft….I already skipped a day. What’s wrong with me? Oh well, let’s carry on, shall we? Let’s grab that iPhone and see what comes up. Shake. Shake. Ahhh….nice!! Coheed and Cambria – A Favor House Atlantic

What a weird song! Coheed and Cambria are a great example of alt rock-meets-progressive rock. The song is a small slice of the concept album In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3. It’s got a driving beat and great melody, and, for a while, I couldn’t get enough of it or the accompanying silly video. Singer Claudio Sanchez has a voice you’re either going to like or be annoyed with and, hands-down, the coolest freaking ‘fro you will ever see. Personally, I find it totally works with the music. I will say that the song isn’t really a superior example of what the rest of Coheed and Cambria’s music sounds like. It is definitely one of the more “poppy” songs you will hear from the band. I suggest you take a listen and then delve a little deeper into the band’s tunes. It’s hard to find a bad one.
